Challenge
Recurring damp under a kitchen sink
A household in Beigang had noticed damp under the kitchen sink over several weeks. The area had been dried out twice but the moisture kept returning. They weren't sure whether it was the tap, the waste pipe, or a joint lower in the cabinet.
What Was Done
The technician isolated both the tap connection and the trap. The problem turned out to be a corroded compression fitting on the cold supply, which was weeping slowly. The fitting was replaced and the joint re-sealed. The trap was inspected and found to be sound. Total time on-site: around 45 minutes.
Result
No further dampness reported. The client was shown the replaced fitting and given a note on what to check if the area showed moisture again. No follow-up visit required within the two months since.

Challenge
Toilet not clearing properly after flush
An older house in Dongshi had a toilet that required two or three flushes to clear. The issue had developed gradually over about three months and the owners assumed it was a cistern problem.
What Was Done
After checking the cistern and ruling out a fill or flap valve issue, the technician inspected the trap and found a partial blockage in the trap curve — accumulated scale and waste over time. The drain was cleared and the trap inspected. The cistern was also checked at the client's request and the fill valve adjusted for better performance.
Result
Single flush clearing restored. The client was advised on a periodic mild cleaning method to slow scale build-up in the trap given the hard water in the area. No additional charge for the cistern check.

Challenge
Water heater replacement and pressure check
A property in Beigang needed a like-for-like gas water heater replacement. The owner also mentioned that the shower pressure felt weaker than it used to. The two issues may or may not have been related.
What Was Done
The heater was removed and the new unit fitted to the existing gas and water connections. During the pipe review, the technician found a partially closed gate valve on the cold supply that had been left that way after a previous job. The valve was opened fully, restoring normal pressure. The shower run was tested before departure.
Result
Heater operating correctly. Shower pressure normal. The owner was shown each connection point and the valve location. A plain summary of the installed unit and what the pipe review found was left with the property.
